JOHNSON CITY – Larry Dale Miller Sr., 63, of Johnson City, passed away, Saturday, July 4, 2020 at his residence, with his family by his side.
Larry was a native of Johnson City and is a son of R.L. and Hazel Little Miller. He was a Fork Lift Operator for many years and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. Larry was very special to his family and they all referred to him as the “BEST Husband, Dad and Papaw”.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents Jack Little and Cora Combs, and Lionel and Cosby White Miller.
Those left to celebrate Larry’s memory are his loving and devoted wife of 42 years, Linda Edwards Miller; son, Larry Miller, Jr. (Jessica) of Athens, TN; daughter, Brandy Miller of Johnson City; grandchildren Jayden, Cameron and Addie Miller of Athens, TN and Lucas and Laina Faulkner of Johnson City; brothers, Randy Miller (Rita)of Johnson City, Matt Miller (Nicole) of Elizabethton, Bruce Miller (Elaine) of Johnson City; several nieces and nephews; a special friend Hugh Light his “Buddy” (Linda) and their daughter MJ; a special friend Zach Wheeler.
The Miller family will gather to greet friends and share memories on Monday, July 6, 2020, from 4:00-7:00 P.M. in the East Chapel of Appalachian Funeral Home. A graveside service at Washington County Memory Gardens will be held at a later date with Pastor Jim Chatman, officiating.
The family would like to say a special thank you to Avalon Hospice including Pandora Garcia, Brooks Monroe, Case Manager, Sandy Cannon and Chaplin Gary. Also a special thank you to Mary Miller, Robbin Clark, Libby Akers, Dr. Debra Unchaper, and Dr. Farrow.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Wounded Warrior (with an online donation form on their website) to P.O. Box 758516, Topeka, KS 66675-8516.
