Kirk P. (K.P.) Stafford

GRAY – Kirk P. (K.P.) Stafford, 80, of Gray, passed away on Saturday, July 13, 2019 at NHC Health Care, Johnson City.
He was a native of Carter County and son of the late Thomas Harvey and Mina Franklin Stafford.
In addition to his parents, K.P. was preceded in death by his sisters: Betty Stafford, Diane Stafford, Gladys Eller, Rheanna Stafford, Christine Laws, and Nelta Potter; brothers: Larry Stafford, Thomas (Buster) Stafford, Jerry (J.D.) Stafford, Bill Stafford, and Earl Stafford.
K.P. attended Strong Tower Baptist Church. He constructed cabinets for Magnavox for 18 years before going to work for the city of Johnson City for 19 years.
Those left to cherish K.P.’s memory include his loving wife, Emma Jean Coggins Stafford, daughter, Connie Elizabeth Crouch and her husband James, son, Kenneth Paul Stafford and his wife Stella, granddaughter, Logan Nicole Crouch, sisters: Grace Bogolin (Joe), Nora Dooley (Tom), and Ruby Sams; several nieces and nephews.
The family will greet friends to share memories on Wednesday, July 17, 2019 from 5:00 pm until a Celebration of K.P.’s life at 7:00 pm at Strong Tower Baptist Church 1022 Old Stage Road, Gray, TN 37615, with Pastor Ancel Presnell, Jr. officiating. A Graveside service will be held at 10:00 am on Thursday at Washington County Memory Gardens with Rev. Garry Edwards officiating. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are Fred Malone, Glen Birchfield, Wallace King and Gary Conner. Everyone is asked to meet at the cemetery by 9:50 am.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be sent to Strong Tower Baptist Church Youth Fund, 1022 Old Stage Road, Gray, TN 37615.
